Abstract

This paper presents a method for analyzing the effect of a class of artillery-launched sensor fuzed munitions on a target, which is a system consisting of several target elements and a fault logic. The target elements are armored vehicles and the munitions are designed speci?cally to attack single vehicles. We consider munitions which may contain one or two submunitions. We want to address the following questions: what is the probability of disabling the system given the number of ammunition, and similarly, how much ammunition is needed for disabling the system with a given con?dence level. The proposed method is based on Markov chains rather than Monte Carlo simulation.
