Abstract

Currently; most of the links from Modelica models to real-time hardware platforms suitable for Testing and Validation are based upon vendor-dependent model exchange formats; or rely on third party preprocessors.

This paper describes the implementation of the Modelisar Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) support in NI VeriStand; a commercial software environment suitable for real-time testing applications.

This paper presents the work conducted to implement the FMI Add-on for NI-VeriStand; which is available as a commercial product. In addition the process to make hardware in the loop simulations starting from a system model implemented into a Model Based Design Development environment compliant with the FMI for Co-Simulation standard; until its validation into NI VeriStand environment with National Instruments real-time hardware is explained in details.
