This paper is dedicated to the Linear Analysis of dynamic systems represented by Modelica models. The simulation of dynamic systems helps the engineer in his design activities giving him a better understanding of the system he is in charge. Additionally to time-domain simulations; frequency domain analysis provides a complementary view of the systems. This paper gives a general overview of the Linear Analysis methods that can be performed on Modelica models using the existing facilities in LMS Imagine.
Lab platform. It highlights the use of Eigenvalues; Modals Shapes; Transfer Functions or Root Locus to fully understand the intrinsic dynamic behaviors of the systems; including non-linear systems. Different multi-physics examples show how these tools can be used practically.
