Abstract

A new object-oriented approach for the robust modeling of thermofluid systems has revealed to be also favorable for hard real-time simulation. This paper presents a complex and challenging application: an electric driven environmental control system architecture for potential use in future aircraft. The system is challenging to simulate in real-time because it also contains a computational expensive vapor cycle model and reconfigures because of switching by-passes. The system is complex to control due to its high degree of integration and interdependencies. Goal of this work is to integrate the model of this system for the virtual testing into an overall energy management for the aircraft on-board systems.
